The “regular” portion of the Extreme 2007 program was selected from submissions which were submitted in April. The submissions were required to be full papers and all new material. These papers were each sent to several members of the peer review panel, who provided evaluations and suggestions for improvement. The main program was selected, by the conference committee, from these submissions.
Because these papers had to be submitted so far in advance of the conference we reserved a few slots on the program for presentation of “late-breaking” material. Proposals for late-breaking slots were not submitted until June, and did not have to be full papers. Some “late-breaking” submissions were full papers, some were abstracts with supporting exhibits, and some were email messages.
Late-breaking presentations were not peer reviewed; the conference committee made these selections.
Unlike the regular papers at Extreme, late-breaking presentations are not required to be supported by full papers, and if full papers are provided they may not appear until the final (post-conference) version of the proceedings.
